This layout was inspired by the current promt at Gutter Girlz...

I havent scrapped anything about my mother in about 2 years... I tend to scrap happy, funny, good things... I was suprised how good it felt to do this and get it out. This situation with my mother sucks to be blunt... but I have to remain true to myself and I know I am worth alot more than to put up with being treated like crap. It took me a long time to realise that it doesnt matter who it is doing it I dont deserve it and I dont have to take it.

I scrapped... and for me... not for a present, not for a job... just for me! lol

It is for a challenge on the OUT OF THE HAT blog... but I had fun doing it... took forever to sew those flourishes though... but yeah worth it in the end!
In other important news... I managed to snag myself a gorgeous cardigan today and am thrilled it has sleeves that go all the way to my wrists! I get trends and styles etc but seriously trying to find something nice that wasnt those little cap sleeves or 3/4 sleeves and wasnt rediculously expensive was an effort in itself. What is up with the sleeves anyway? Am I the only person on the planet who's arms get cold too?
Thats my rant for today lol.
Night all!

Still crazy busy around here... lots of stuff happening... next weekend is going to be a big one considering its a long weekend... Jed has a birthday party on saturday, Abbee is cheerleading on sunday and Jed has his first proper eistedfod on monday. After the eistedfod we are heading up to visit my aunties and deliver their new dryer. Last weekend was filled with a lovely tupperware party (complete with cocktails and jelly shots lol), a kids birthday party at one of those indoor play centres (not a good idea the morning after cocktails and jelly shots lol) and attempting to get some washing done amongst the wild wet weather!
I also have a big job at the moment making a set of wedding stationary... save the date cards, invitations, place cards, menus and thank you cards... so been running around getting materials together and starting work on those.
I have some photos to pick up in the morning and tomorrow come hell or high water (which is likely with the amount of rain we have had lately) I will scrap something for me... havent done so since before we moved at the start of April.
Last monday Rod had the day off so we headed out for a nice quiet lunch together... so good to get out without kids sometimes... lol. I took along the old point and shoot camera and got a couple of cool shots...

Rod's lunch (chicken burger)

And me and Rod (gotta love a self portrait shot!)

Ive also spotted some cool stuff around the net lately... thought I would share... being the generous person I am lol.

And this blog is hilarious... Awkward Family Photos check it out for a giggle!

Found this blog hopping... Bacon Explosion... cant be good for you but still amazing to check out.

Another site good for a laugh... Mulletjunky.

Found these on ETSY here... and I so want them lol... doubt Rod would wear his though!

Found this cute shop... Shana Logic... how cute are these?

And this shope http://www.mooo.com.au/... love it! You can pick the print you want and the colours and stuff... awesome!

Really cool t-shirts from NoiseBot...

between posts I know... Im a slacker!
Alot has been happening...

We moved... its awesome... yep the house is much smaller than our old one but its great. Alot less work to clean it lol. Close to the shops which is unreal.
Kids are settled into their new schools... both settled in really well with no dramas... loving that!
I joined the gym... sometimes I wonder if I was mad... but I know its good for me in the long run.

Im now the mother of a teenager... yep Abbee turned 13! So far so good... but it has only been a week lol.
Last weekend we also went on a lovely dinner cruise to celebrate it being 40 years since Rod's grandparents, dad and aunts and uncle arrived in Australia from Holland.

Got a lovely photo of the four of us waiting to go on the boat...

I have also been busy creating an album for Rod's Oma... here are just a few of the pages...

(Baby Rodney with his grandparents!)

(Rod's Oma & Opa)

(Rod's Opa)

(Rod's grandparents, Rod's dad, Uncle and Aunties leaving Holland.)

Amongst all that we have had alot of other stuff happening... Abbee has done a couple of cheerleading performances, Abbee and Jed performed at a talent quest a a local club with Jed moving through to the semi finals for his age group, the kids dance studio had its grand opening for its new studio complex, we went to visit my dad and had a lovely day with him and some birthday parties.
So yeah been flat out with lots of stuff happening... hoping that things will start to settle down a bit more now. And hoping to get some scrapping done for myself soon too!

Lots happening...

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Well... haven't really got much scrapping done lately... been flat chat packing and cleaning because we are moving house!!! I can't wait for this move to be over. We are moving to a smaller house so I am trying to get rid of alot of crap and organise things better. But this move is going to be fantastic for us in the long run. The location of our new place is amazing... only a few minutes walk to the local shopping centre, a few minutes more to the train station. It will also mean we can walk to dancing lessons which is awesome... going to save us alot of time and bus fares too! Life is going to be much better there.
We also had a little party for Jed last weekend. His birthday is in January but because we were away he didnt get a party then. We waited till he was back at school for a bit before we organised it and he had a ball. (And I learned that I am very lucky my 7yo boy is not twins or triplets lol... one is plenty!)

So on the scrap front... Ive managed to get these couple of pages done...

This one is for SCRAP THE GIRLS march challenge:

And this one is for PUNK ROCK SCRAPPERS:

The challenge was about hating your job and all the yucky crap that goes with alot of jobs... and it took me a while to come up with something because as a SAHM I love my job... sure it has some crappy bits but on a whole I love it.... but what I hate about it is being called a housewife... so I came up with this interpretation.

Im hoping to get enough packing and cleaning done over the next few days that I might be able to scrap some over the weekend. Scrap stuff (like all good essentials) gets packed last lmao.
